I come bearing wonderful tidings! According to this article, Funimation has picked up distribution for a number of Geneon titles. And yes, you guessed it, Saiunkoku is on the list! Happy day! I don't know if this includes season two as well, or if the first two disks will be redone, not many details seem to be out yet, but this is the news we have all been waiting for! Let all the land of Saiunkoku rejoice!

For anyone in the US who was collecting the DVDs, we have hope. The license has been rescued by none other than Funimation (story here), as announced at Anime Expo.

No information on whether they are picking up where Geneon left off, or if Funi plans to re-package and re-distribute from the start, but this is good news all around for R1 fans of this show. Please show your support and purchase these discs if you are considering this release! ^_^

Oi oi... Midorin has been WAY too many anime as of late. He's currently back as Zelgadiss Graywords in recent release of Slayers Revolution. They kept the same cast, anime style and artwork like 10 years ago XDDD!!!
